Our most recent project, Out In The Open is showing at Willoughby Visual Arts Biennial, 6 - 24 September 2017, Sydney in a modified version of the original installation. Look out for it as part of Kaleidoscope in the Mall!

We've also created a film version of the work, which premiered at the Melbourne International Animation Festival festival in June this year. We're excited to announce that the film will also be showing at the Puppet Is A Human Too Festival (Poland), Aesthetica Short Film Festival and the New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival. We'll both be guests at the New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival in Sapporo, Japan, in November and look forward to meeting other animation people!

Finally, we're thrilled to annouce that we've received funding from Screen Australia to create a new stop-motion virtual reality film! We're working with producer Phillipa Campey (who produced Clara) to create Passenger, an animated VR experience that will tell the story of a migrant who has made the immense journey from her homeland to Australia. We're just about to begin pre-production, VR is a whole new adventure for us!

Our most recent project, Out In The Open premiered at the Melbourne Festival as part of the City of Melbourne Public Art Biennial. We developed the work in the immersive Public Art Biennial Lab at the Queen Victoria Market. During this time we spent many days at the market learning about the different layers of history, hearing about the many possibilities for the future, listening to views and concerns of market traders and management. It was an overwhelming site to consider for a film. After talking with a number of traders and market workers, we distilled a narrative thread that we hope would connect with the site.

The installation was a great success and we look forward to finding possibilities of presenting it again in some form. Currently we have a studio installation of the set and props at C3 Contemporary Art Space showing alongside a screen version of the film. Read more about Out In The Open.

We presented Dwelling, an audio-visual outdoor performance in a custom built house in a carpark in Footscray for the opening of the Big West Festival. Dwelling combines live performance with sound, animation and visual effects to create an extraordinary narrative experience about women and homelessness. Developed over eighteen months with input from the community of the Western suburbs the performance took place inside a house which was designed in consultation with women from the Women's Housing Initiative. You Were In My Dream is showing at QAGOMA in Brisbane as part of a wonderful summer children's exhibition, Journey To Fantastic Lands, 08 November 2014 – 10 May 2015. The team at QAGOMA have designed a new configuration of the work to be shown alongside the original installation so that multiple people can use the work simultaneously. We've created a tree-like wallpaper to cover the new versions of the work which we're looking forward to seeing in the flesh.

We showed a miniature diorama loosely based on It's a jungle in here as part of re::set Trainspotters INC in Melbourne on October 31st. The night is being turned into a radio show to be aired on 3RRR on Thursday 13th November at 7pm.

It's a jungle in here enjoyed a wonderful month of exhibitions. The carpentry team at the Vogele Kultur Zentrum did an excellent job of rebuilding a streamlined design of the booth. The exhbition, Responsibility, has a great collection of work that deals with differet forms of responsibility. Our work was placed next to an installation which displayed a documentary about the famous Milgram experiments. I met several of the other exhibiting artists - Justine Smith who makes work with paper money, Ole Kretschmann who converted a classic photobooth into a confessional booth and Cecile Stadelmann-Hochreutener who was showing a beautiful video of a dandelion clock.

The second exhibition was at ISEA 2013 in Sydney. We showed at Electronica Art at the Rocks Pop Up alongside Please Smile - a robotic sculpture which waves at you when you smile by Hye Yeon Nam, Temple of Din - two amazing pinball noise machines by Lucas Abela, and Arrivals by Marco De Mutiis which was a beautiful installation using the flip-style lettering from old airport signs.

You Were In My Dream is still on show as part of Experimenta at Powerhouse Museum for ISEA 2013 at the Powerhouse Museum until September.
